CFSMobile is an app that is part of the Canada Food Study conducted by Associate Professor David Hammond of the University of Waterloo. The app will collect your location data for 7 days, as long as you keep the app running in the background. The purpose of this part of the study is to better understand the relationship between people’s travel and food habits. CFSMobile was developed by Associate Professor Zachary Patterson at Concordia University. It is an implementation of Professor Patterson’s TRIP Lab app called DataMobile.
The Canada Food Study and use of this app has received ethics clearance from the University of Waterloo and Concordia University. All of the information we collect through the app is kept strictly confidential; your information will never be shared with any company.
** Warning **
While this app is designed to limit drain on your battery, depending on your device, continued use of this application may significantly decrease its battery life. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Its a good idea to keep a charger with you if you will be travelling a lot in a day.
